Overview
Provide optimal, holistic, specialised nursing care within set standards and professional/legal framework. Manage and monitor the efficient and effective utilisation of human, financial and physical resources. Participate in training, mentoring, research and implementation of the department's values. Provide support to Nursing Services and the Institution. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self-development. Maintain a good relationship with the MDT and refer patients for a holistic approach.
Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science OR a 4 year Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- A postgraduate diploma accredited in Midwifery.
- Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing, with at least 10 years of that experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification or post-graduate diploma in the relevant specialty.
- Willingness to work shifts (weekends, public holidays and nights) and overtime when necessary.
