Overview

AFGRI is recruiting graduates for its Grain Management Graduate Programme 2027, an 18-month programme starting on 1 February 2027 at AFGRI’s Centurion head office. The programme aims to produce analysts and traders who understand the full grain value chain, from the silo floor to JSE agricultural derivatives.

Requirements

  • Completed NQF Level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness Management, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, Risk Management or a related commercial or agricultural discipline
  • Strong academic results, especially in quantitative, economic, agricultural or financial subjects
  • Computer literate with practical Microsoft Excel proficiency
  • Valid driver’s licence, or able to obtain one before 1 February 2027
  • Analytical, commercially minded, comfortable with data, with good communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Grain management and silo operations from a commercial perspective
  • Agricultural commodity markets and price formation
  • Commercial analysis and reporting
  • Price-risk management, including futures, options and hedging
  • Grain logistics and the broader grain value chain
  • Exposure to JSE agricultural derivatives and trading desks
