Overview

The Internal Controls Specialist – IT is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, maintenance and ongoing effectiveness of Ivanhoe Group's Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework related specifically to its technology and applications. The role serves as the Group's subject matter expert for IT General Controls (ITGCs), automated controls, and other technology dependencies supporting financial reporting.

Requirements

  • BCom Accounting degree or BCom internal audit degree or BCom Information Technology (NQF7)
  • BCom Honours degree / Post Graduate Diploma (NQF 8)
  • Minimum of 4 working years’ experience in a similar role
  • Previous experience in a listed, multinational, mining or similarly complex organisation would be advantageous
  • Experience working with multiple ERP systems, business locations or service organisations would be advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Assessing and testing the design of internal controls for all in scope technology and application systems
  • Facilitating remediation processes with key stakeholders
  • Project managing remediation efforts where required
  • Conducting risk assessments and ICFR scoping
  • Documenting processes and risk-control matrices
  • Designing and implementing controls
  • Evaluating deficiencies and providing control-owner support and training
  • Coordinating IT-dependent controls and ITGC
  • Management reporting and certification
