Trainee Wool Technician

Overview
The successful candidate will undergo training and development to become a Wool Technician and will be responsible for assisting with the planning and coordination of daily activities within the Binning and Resort Departments.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Diploma in Agriculture or related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in wool handling and a production environment
- Sound practical knowledge and experience in wool handling and processing
Responsibilities
- Plan daily activities in the Binning and Resort Departments
- Classify wool according to approved typing standards
- Plan wool pressing according to volumes and profitability
- Manage labour according to operational requirements
- Ensure equipment is maintained and operational
- Train and guide new employees and sorters
- Ensure bales are tested through Objective Measurement within required deadlines
- Manage Resort administration and clip balancing
- Maintain discipline in accordance with company procedures
- Assist with warehouse tours and visitor requirements
