Overview
The Accounting Clerk will render financial accounting control and support services within the Department of Infrastructure. This role involves processing financial claims, maintaining and reconciling ledger accounts, and accurately capturing financial transactions into the relevant systems to ensure proper documentation and compliance with financial regulations.
Requirements
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification) with Mathematics and/or Accounting as subjects passed
- A valid driving license (Code B or higher)
Responsibilities
- Process financial claims in accordance with applicable prescripts and ensure all supporting documentation is complete and accurate
- Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts to ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
- Accurately capture all financial transactions into the relevant financial operating systems
- Clear suspense and ledger accounts timeously by investigating and resolving reconciling items
