Overview
The Department of Agriculture, Western Cape Government has opportunities for two competent individuals to promote sustainable development in the agricultural sector through technology transfer and the application of correct extension principles and methods.
Requirements
- An appropriate 3 year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification)
- A valid driving licence (Code B or higher)
- People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport may also apply.
Responsibilities
- Assist in rendering general agricultural advice to internal and external clients to ensure sustainable development
- Provide technical support on all agricultural projects, food security initiatives, and land development support programmes
- Assist with planning, advising, facilitating training, and after care
- Promote a pluralistic approach and partnerships with relevant agricultural stakeholders and organised agriculture
- Promote sustainable production of agricultural products
- Perform administrative and related functions
