Overview

The Admin Controller is responsible for overseeing and controlling the branch's administrative, cash management, credit control, and compliance functions, ensuring accurate financial and administrative processes and adherence to company policies.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Administrative, finance, credit control, or retail experience, preferably within a furniture, retail, or credit environment
  • Knowledge of cash handling, reconciliation processes, and financial controls
  • Understanding of credit administration and National Credit Act requirements would be advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and support team members
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
  • A proactive approach with strong ownership and accountability for results

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all cash-related activities, including daily cash-ups, petty cash reconciliations, refunds, float management, and safe control processes
  • Manage the branch credit control function by reviewing customer contracts, ensuring compliance with credit requirements, and following up on approvals and outstanding documentation
  • Monitor and authorise financial transactions while maintaining accurate records and supporting documentation
  • Ensure the accurate filing, storage, and archiving of banking, credit, invoice, and statutory documentation
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to payments, refunds, and credit agreements
  • Conduct quality checks on administrative processes and documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Support branch audits by preparing reports, maintaining records, and communicating relevant information to management
  • Supervise, support, and train Admin Clerks and sales staff on administrative processes, documentation standards, and National Credit Act requirements
  • Maintain a professional, organised, and compliant administration and payments environment
  • Order and manage office consumables and stationery required for efficient branch operations
