Overview

EatFresh is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Area Manager to oversee multiple food service operations within a designated region. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, profitability, customer satisfaction, compliance, and people development across all assigned sites.

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Catering Management, Business Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Valid South African Driver's Licence.
  • Food Safety/HACCP Certification will be advantageous.
  • Health and Safety Certification (SAMTRAC, NOSA, or equivalent) will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of multiple EatFresh sites, ensuring consistent service delivery and compliance with company standards.
  • Drive financial performance by achieving revenue, profitability, and cost management targets across all assigned locations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational plans to ensure business objectives and KPI targets are achieved.
  • Conduct regular site visits, operational reviews, and quality audits to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP requirements, health and safety legislation, and company policies.
  • Manage client relationships through regular engagement, service reviews, and proactive resolution of concerns to ensure client retention and satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for organic growth, contract expansion, and additional revenue streams within existing accounts.
  • Lead and develop Site Managers and operational teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.
  • Ensure recruitment, onboarding, training, and development processes are implemented effectively across all sites.
  • Monitor labour productivity, scheduling, overtime, and workforce planning to optimize staffing levels and operational efficiency.
  • Review and approve site budgets, forecasts, stock controls, and monthly operational reports.
  • Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure procurement and inventory management processes are executed effectively to minimize wastage and control costs.
  • Investigate customer complaints, service failures, and operational incidents, implementing sustainable corrective actions.
  • Manage supplier and vendor relationships to ensure quality products and services are delivered within agreed standards.
  • Lead implementation of new business contracts, mobilizations, and operational transitions.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing, promotional, and customer experience initiatives within the region.
  • Ensure all company assets, equipment, and facilities are maintained and utilized effectively.
  • Develop and implement business continuity and risk mitigation plans for assigned sites.
  • Prepare and present operational, financial, and performance reports to senior management.
  • Drive sustainability, waste reduction, and environmental initiatives in line with EatFresh and Tsebo objectives.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments to identify opportunities for innovation and service enhancement.
  • Act as the key escalation point for operational issues, client concerns, and employee relations matters within the region.
