General Assistant - Education
Overview
The General Assistant assists the Cooks and Chefs with food productions, operates the cash register, serves food, and keeps the canteen and kitchen clean.
Requirements
- Be 18 years of age
- Must have completed at least a matric / senior certificate
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Company & Statutory regulations regarding cleanliness & hygiene
- Meet quality standards of customer service, health and safety, and food standards
- Assist in the preparation of meals, especially salads and desserts
- Keep the serving line well-stocked and clean
- May assist in training new employees
- Store and record food leftovers
- Keep canteen tables, kitchen and other areas clean and orderly
- Ensure customer expectations are met
- Count and sign over stock to the correct staff on the following shift
- Report and take action on customer and client complaints or compliments
- Attend meetings and training courses as necessary
- Perform related work as assigned
