Assistant Catering Manager - Johannesburg (HC)
Overview
We are in search of an Assistant Catering Manager to join our Healthcare space. In this role you would be required to assist the manager in the day-to-day management tasks of providing a catering service to the required standards.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in the catering and/or restaurant industry on a supervisory level
- Completed at least a Matric
- Previous experience in a Healthcare environment would be highly advantageous
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of high-quality meals and catering functions
- Support the effective day-to-day operation of the catering unit
- Oversee and participate in meal service periods
- Assist in the development, planning, and costing of menus
- Manage supplier orders and liaise with vendors
- Support the completion of administrative processes
- Receive, inspect, issue, and control stock
- Conduct regular inspections for compliance with policies and regulations
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to team members
- Maintain understanding of food safety and health regulations
- Foster a positive work environment
- Ensure security of company assets and stock
- Coordinate and participate in regular stocktakes
- Attend and contribute to meetings and training sessions
- Assume responsibility for the catering operation in the absence of the Catering Manager
- Participate in industry events and training opportunities
- Drive a culture of customer service excellence
