Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate or equivalent NQF level
- Availability and flexibility to work different shifts
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions
- Basic selling skills and knowledge of store products and services
- Demonstrated honesty, reliability, and self-discipline
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently
- Basic numeracy and literacy for handling till operations
- Customer-focused with a friendly and professional demeanor
Responsibilities
- Greets, smiles, and acknowledges customers
- Thanks card customers by name to ensure exceptional customer service
- Demonstrates understanding of loyalty programs
- Offers available services (e.g. utility bill payments and airtime)
- Processes till transactions efficiently and effectively
- Scans and packs efficiently at till points
- Understands and promotes different methods of payment
- Maintains a hygienic, safe, and well-organized till point
- Reports acts of dishonesty related to shrinkage and fraud
- Minimizes shrinkage by adhering to corporate store disciplines
- Demonstrates self-discipline regarding attendance and dress code
- Attends team meetings to know the day’s focus
