Overview

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Cape Town is seeking an Inbound Clerk to join their team. The main purpose of this role is to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centres by accurately receiving incoming goods delivered to the warehouse.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 - Matric or Senior Certificate with English and Mathematics
  • 1 Year relevant experience in a Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
  • Relevant experience in the field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management (advantageous)
  • Supply-Chain or Logistics Degree or Diploma (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Verify and check deliveries against inbound delivery and invoices to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure goods delivered match the goods ordered as per the company purchase order.
  • Scan barcodes and capture quantities, batch details, expiry dates during the receiving process.
  • Ensure that the quantities delivered correspond with the invoice.
  • Ensure all handling units are double-checked by another clerk before release for pack-away.
  • Assist the receiving manager in preparing and logging warehouse claims.
  • Despatch all returns to suppliers according to company policy and procedures.
  • Maintain the flow of stock receipts through receiving by receipting deliveries within 48 hours.
  • Process returns to suppliers in compliance with company standard operating procedures.
  • Adhere to food handling SOP at all times.
  • Assist in training other staff members.
  • Be willing to rotate to different areas as needed and perform any other functions within the department.
