Overview
The Department of Economic Development and Tourism within the Western Cape Government seeks a dynamic and innovative senior manager to eliminate bureaucratic barriers and regulatory constraints that hinder business and economic development. This role involves strategic leadership in identifying inefficiencies and advocating for red tape reduction.
Requirements
- An undergraduate legal qualification (NQF level 7) as recognised by SAQA
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in middle and/or senior management
Responsibilities
- Identify and address regulatory and legislative blockages that inhibit economic growth and development
- Identify and address systemic process and procedural inefficiencies in business-facing services
- Advocate and create awareness of the importance of red tape reduction among stakeholders
- Facilitate the resolution of red tape enquiries and business complaints
- Lead recruitment aligned to staffing plans and drive employee development through training and mentoring
- Oversee performance management, evaluation, and recognition systems while promoting sound labour relations
- Lead the Directorate’s strategic planning and business planning processes
- Oversee and direct the Directorate’s budgeting processes including preparation of annual and adjustment budgets
