District Supervisor - Healthwise Eastern Cape
Overview
Fedics Healthwise is seeking an experienced, commercially astute, and highly driven District Manager to oversee a demanding portfolio of healthcare catering contracts across the Eastern Cape. This role is ideally suited to a hands-on operational leader with extensive contract catering experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record of delivering results in a highly regulated healthcare environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior Contract Catering Management role
- Previous Healthcare Catering experience is essential
- Proven experience managing multiple sites within a contract catering environment
- Strong financial and commercial management skills
- Experience managing budgets, P&Ls, labour costs, and operational efficiencies
- Demonstrated success in managing demanding and high-volume portfolios
- Strong stakeholder and client relationship management skills
- Experience managing recruitment, employee relations, and staff turnover
- Sound knowledge of healthcare audits, food safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and people management capabilities
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively within the Eastern Cape
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Business Management, or related field
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead a portfolio of healthcare catering contracts across the Eastern Cape
- Ensure consistent delivery of contractual obligations, client expectations, and operational standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, hospital management teams, and key stakeholders
- Drive financial performance through budget management, cost control, forecasting, and profitability improvement
- Lead, mentor, and develop Catering Managers and site management teams
- Monitor labour utilisation, productivity, and workforce planning
- Manage recruitment activities, succession planning, and employee retention initiatives
- Reduce staff turnover through effective people management and engagement strategies
- Ensure compliance with healthcare audit requirements, food safety standards, quality systems, and legislative requirements
- Conduct regular site visits, operational reviews, and performance assessments
- Drive customer satisfaction, service excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support mobilisations, contract renewals, and business growth opportunities
