Overview
The Food Service Assistant is to assist with the preparation and serving of all meals and beverages to customers, ensuring great customer service always. It is the responsibility of a food service assistant to ensure that the kitchen and service areas are clean and tidy, assisting with waste removal and washing up.
Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Strong customer service orientation
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or a similar hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions and procedures
- Basic stock control and inventory management awareness
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present high-quality meals, fast foods, snacks, and sandwiches
- Maintain exceptional food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards
- Support stock control processes, including stock counts and minimizing wastage
- Deliver excellent customer service and build positive relationships
- Ensure all customers are greeted warmly and assisted professionally
- Provide service excellence in line with Tsebo's customer experience standards
- Prepare food items efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Adhere to loss prevention and stock management procedures
- Comply with Tsebo policies, procedures, and workplace standards
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by management
