Overview

Uphold the merchandising standards whilst supporting customer service at point of sales in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
  • 0 – 6 Months Retail work experience
  • 1 Year work experience within Retail (advantageous)
  • Certification in Retail Business Management (advantageous)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure full ranges of products are on shelves and neatly presented.
  • Maintain stock to ensure it has not reached its sell by date.
  • Restock merchandise to ensure maximum sales.
  • Follow up on out of stock queries from customers.
  • Ensure delivered stock is stored and packed correctly.
  • Ensure merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are correct.
  • Keep storeroom organized, neat, and tidy.
  • Assist with restocking of merchandise and supplies.
  • Transact all purchases and process payments.
  • Exchange merchandise and accept returns when authorized.
  • Process loyalty cards.
  • Ensure cash is placed in the drop safe.
  • Facilitate rotation of stock and adhere to stock control procedures.
  • Report low stock levels, damaged stock, and expired stock.
  • Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking.
  • Establish a professional relationship with customers.
  • Report customer compliments and complaints.
  • Assist with training of new and current team members.
  • Ensure outgoing stock is scanned and paid for.
  • Report suspicious behavior to management.
  • Adhere to housekeeping standards and health and safety regulations.
