Overview
Under broad instructions to provide basic horticultural environmental related maintenance and contraction of landscape as instructed.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Six months’ relevant horticultural experience
- Ability to operate horticultural machinery such as a brush cutter and lawnmowers
Responsibilities
- Weeding of sites and areas
- Asset management
- Planting
- Weeding, watering division of plants, pruning, using hand tools
- Application of fertilisers and chemicals as per instruction
- Soil preparation
- Load and unload
- Packing and stacking
- Counting of stock
- Apply basic plant identification correctly
- Apply basic weed and alien identification correctly
- Identification of indigenous vs exotic plants
- Apply water wise principles
- Assist with decorations
- Assist with floral display
- Monitor for damage and theft
- Implement hard landscape such as stepping stones, gabions, stone packing, erecting poles, erecting water feature, retaining walls and cement mixing
- SHE reps meeting attendance
