Health, Safety & Environmental Manager
Overview
The purpose of this position is to implement and manage HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs relative to a large national/international corporate account or market area. Manages HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s).
Requirements
- Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in HSE from four-year college or university
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and/or facility maintenance and management is preferred
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred
- Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa
- Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Customer service and stakeholder focused approach
- Basic understanding of procurement and work order processes
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers
- Ability to effectively present information
Responsibilities
- Manage and conclude service requests from departments for various services or products
- Manage works orders and ensure completion by the deadline date
- Administration of suppliers
- Ensure Occupational Health & Safety compliance
- Compile annual budget and adjust on budget projections
- Control of monthly budget and report on budget deviations
- Ensure outputs of SLA with contractor are maintained
- Check, manage and monitor compliance of all Service Level agreements on site
