Heavy Vehicle Driver - Hay band A2
Overview
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting of material and personnel to and from different destinations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate)
- Valid code EC1 driver’s license and the ability to pass Rand Waters K53 driving test
- 2 years experience in driving a heavy vehicle
- Must be in possession of Public Drivers Permit (PDP)
- Previous experience of operating heavy passenger vehicle will be an added advantage
Responsibilities
- Correct balancing of goods loaded
- Check if the vehicle is roadworthy
- Check if the vehicle is not overloaded
- Check and confirm the load is secure and balanced
- Check correct operation of tie down and lifting
- Report vehicle defects and clean the vehicle
- Assist with tree felling
- Operating of cranes/slings
- Relief other drivers in EMS and assist with other driving duties
- Fill in log book
- Check documentation against the load
- Responsible for welfare and safety of crew
- Responsible for vehicle and load whilst on the road
- Dumping at legal sites
- Ensure compliance of equipment
