HSE Officer
Overview
Support safe, compliant and hazard-free operations across assigned sites, focusing on occupational health and safety compliance, site inspections, daily hazard and risk management, reporting, customer service and effective teamwork.
Requirements
- Grade 12
- Relevant Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum of five years’ industry experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and health and safety information and reporting systems
- Working knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety legislation, hazard identification and risk management
- SACPCMP HSE Registration (Not a CANDIDATE)
Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor and maintain company health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct site inspections and monthly audits, identify non-compliance and follow up on corrective actions
- Manage hazards and risks daily, including near-miss reporting, risk communication and escalation
- Ensure employees, contractors, visitors and management are informed of site-specific health and safety hazards and responsibilities
- Prepare site safety progress reports, audit results and management reports, and maintain accurate health and safety records
- Support toolbox talks, visible safety communication and the annual review of health and safety policies
- Provide professional service to internal and external stakeholders, manage expectations and assist in resolving health and safety concerns
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, self-management, teamwork and continuous development
