Overview
RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established building contractor in Johannesburg, is seeking an experienced Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Requirements
- BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying/National Diploma in Building
- 5–8 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry
- Proven experience working on commercial, retail, industrial and residential projects
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost management and commercial processes
- Experience with measurement, valuations, variations, payment certificates and final accounts
- Strong MS Office and CCS Candy skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost estimates and forecasts
- Measurement and preparation of BOQs
- Monitor project costs and expenditure against approved budgets
- Prepare valuations, payment certificates and variation orders
- Manage subcontractor accounts and payments
- Assess and negotiate variations and claims
- Prepare and manage final accounts
- Assist with tendering, procurement and subcontractor appointments
- Conduct regular cost reporting and commercial reviews
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and subcontractors
- Ensure effective commercial and contractual management throughout the project lifecycle
