RPO Recruitment’s client, an established engineering company, is seeking a technically capable Structural Engineer for its Secunda operation. The role will suit a driven engineer who wants to broaden their experience through involvement in industrial and mining-related projects, while gaining valuable exposure to projects beyond the traditional design office. The position combines engineering design with practical project involvement and provides a platform for continued professional development.
Requirements
- NQF Level 8 qualification such as a BEng/BSc Honours in Civil/Structural Engineering
- 4–6 years of relevant industry experience
- Previous involvement in structural engineering projects
- Competence in structural analysis and design
- A proactive approach to technical problem-solving
- Willingness to spend time on project sites and travel when necessary
- An interest in pursuing professional registration
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
- Develop structural engineering solutions for assigned projects
- Complete design calculations and supporting technical documentation
- Assist with engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle
- Investigate and resolve technical issues arising during construction
- Participate in site inspections and project-related assessments
- Coordinate structural requirements with other engineering disciplines
- Communicate with project stakeholders to ensure technical requirements are understood
- Maintain a high standard of engineering quality across all deliverables
