Overview
Nurture Health is seeking a passionate and patient-centred Locum Medical Doctor to assist with weeknight calls and weekends when required. You will play a critical role in optimising patients’ clinical status and enabling their active participation in rehabilitation programmes.
Requirements
- Registered with the HPCSA Medical and Dental Professions Board in the category Independent Practice (General Practitioner)
- Proven experience working within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment
- Strong clinical reasoning, holistic patient assessment, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to influence multidisciplinary decision-making and deliver patient-centred care
- Passionate about rehabilitation and committed to continuous learning and professional development
- Demonstrates accountability, empathy, adaptability, and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ rehabilitation medicine needs, including medically complex cases
- Plan, implement, and monitor rehabilitation medicine interventions
- Prevent and manage secondary complications
- Ensure compliance with clinical governance standards and organisational policies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish patient-centred goals
- Contribute to clinical decision-making
- Educate patients and families on rehabilitation prognosis, progress, and expected outcomes
