Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- MBChB qualification as a Medical Practitioner
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner
Responsibilities
- Providing comprehensive promotive, preventive and curative Primary Health Care services.
- Diagnosing and managing acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Managing HIV, TB and non-communicable diseases according to national clinical guidelines.
- Providing maternal, child and reproductive healthcare services.
- Responding to medical emergencies and medico-legal cases.
- Supervising and supporting nursing staff through in-service training.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with clinical governance standards.
- Participating in quality improvement programmes and infection prevention initiatives.
- Supporting the implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the National Health Insurance (NHI) programme.
- Managing health information and contributing to departmental performance targets.
- Participating in community outreach and health promotion programmes when required.
