Overview
The National Employee Relations Manager will oversee the relationship between the organization and its employees, ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all, and fostering a positive working relationship between employees and management.
Responsibilities
- Provide continued advice and guidance to regions/units in matters relating to employee relations.
- Represent the company at both internal and external bodies (CCMA, BC, etc.) and ensure successful defense and settlements of mandates/disputes.
- Control the operation of all regional IR procedures, systems, and practices in accordance with legal regulations.
- Manage the implementation of all human resource functions and policies for the division.
- Ensure effective communication and training of HR policies, systems, and procedures to line managers, HR staff, and units.
- Ensure sound employment and partnership relations between the company and its employees, trade unions, and bargaining councils.
- Manage legal compliance and risk management processes related to employment laws.
- Advise management on labour law and changes, and conduct training and workshops.
- Handle strikes and lockouts.
