Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Valley View store in Krugersdorp. The role involves providing pharmaceutical care by addressing patients' medicine-related needs and ensuring compliance with legal requirements under the supervision of a pharmacist.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Working experience on Unisolv
- Computer literate – MS Office
- Sound numerical skills
- Strong command of the English language and a second language
- Willing and able to work retail hours
Responsibilities
- Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances
- Assist with the compounding, manipulation or preparation of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance according to approved formulas and procedures
- Assist with the manufacturing of a non-sterile medicine or scheduled substance
- Assist with re-packaging of medicine
- Assist with the distribution and control of stock of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines
- Assist with ordering medicines and scheduled substances up to Schedule 6 based on authorised instructions
- Read and prepare prescriptions, selecting and compounding medicines as necessary
- Accurately interpret scripts and ensure compliance with legal requirements
- Capture script details accurately and verify patient details
- Ensure accurate picking, packing, labelling, and checking of medication
- Provide patients with accurate instructions regarding the use of supplied medicines
