Overview
The Power BI Developer will be responsible for architecting, developing, and delivering robust Power BI reports and dashboards. The role involves working with both internal and external data streams in a hybrid or remote setting across locations such as Durban, Johannesburg, or Cape Town.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data/Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, data cubes, and SQL
- Proficiency in analytic/transformational programming languages (Python or R)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (specifically pivot tables and advanced data modeling)
Responsibilities
- Create, optimize, and distribute Power BI reports and dashboards utilizing internal and external data streams
- Define and connect data sources, import data, and perform necessary ETL/data transformations
- Develop and refine complex SQL and DAX queries to support evolving business requirements
- Partner closely with functional teams to gather requirements and define key performance indicators (KPIs)
