Principal Draughtsperson (Fire Protection) - Consulting Industry
Overview
RPO Recruitment's client, an established fire protection company is seeking a detail-oriented Fire Draughtsperson to join its team in Cape Town.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years’ draughting experience, preferably within fire protection or a construction engineering environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with practical BIM experience required.
- Experience with Navisworks and Canute will be advantageous.
- Ability to produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings, construction plans and as-built drawings.
- Understanding of fire sprinkler systems, hydraulic calculations and relevant industry standards will be beneficial.
- Good communication, organisational and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Valid Code B driver’s licence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and update fire protection system designs and construction drawings.
- Develop and coordinate drawings using Revit and BIM workflows.
- Assist with bills of materials and technical documentation for quotations.
- Liaise with designers, engineers, project managers and site teams.
- Conduct site visits and update drawings to reflect completed installations.
- Ensure drawings comply with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
