Quantity Surveyor - Construction Industry
Overview
RPO Recruitment is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Cape Town team for a prominent Building & Civil Contractor project. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates, and project cost reports while monitoring expenses and assisting with cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience within the construction industry
- Experience with cost control, valuations, subcontractor administration, and variation orders
- Knowledge of payment certificates, cost reporting, and final accounts
- Valid driver's licence
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Prepare BOQs, cost estimates, and project cost reports
- Monitor project costs and assist with cost control throughout the project lifecycle
- Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and final accounts
- Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payment certificates
- Price and administer variation orders and contract claims
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and commercial reporting
- Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Ensure commercial compliance with contract requirements and company procedures
