Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in stock control, inventory management, or warehouse operations.
  • At least three years' experience in a managerial or supervisory position within inventory or warehouse management.
  • Proficient knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), SAP, or comparable inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimise inventory processes and resolve operational challenges.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management skills, including team development and performance monitoring.
  • Proven track record of managing inventory controls in a high-volume distribution or logistics environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance in all aspects of inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Stock Control team, ensuring accurate inventory management and maintaining stock integrity across the Distribution Centre.
  • Monitor and analyse inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, stock reconciliations, and variance investigations, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Oversee all stock movements, including receipts, transfers, returns, damages, and write-offs, ensuring accurate recording within warehouse and inventory systems.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve stock control processes to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with Operational, Replenishment, Transport, and Supply Chain teams to maintain optimal stock availability and minimise losses.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of inventory discrepancies and operational exceptions, driving timely resolution and prevention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, company policies, audit requirements, and relevant legislation.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, providing necessary documentation and implementing agreed corrective actions promptly.
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and workforce planning to meet operational targets and business objectives.
  • Monitor, report on, and drive improvements in key performance indicators related to inventory accuracy, stock losses, productivity, and service excellence.
