(SURVEY) DRAWING OFFICE MANAGER
Overview
Rand Water is currently looking for the Survey Drawing Office Manager in the Design Office to manage the production and efficiency of a multidisciplinary drawing office ensuring that drawings produced are according to the Drawing Office Drawings Procedure. Manage the renewal of any software and hardware required to ensure that the Design Office Information Management System of Technical Information is kept up to date.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification NQF 5-NQF 6 - National Diploma in Multidiscipline Draughting
- Ability to manage information using AutoCAD Vault
- 5-10 years’ experience in Civil Pipeline Design software, Digital Terrain Modelling, Pipeline long sections, Hydraulic design, Volume calculations
- Desired Education B Eng. in Civil Engineering with experience in the use of Built Environment software I.S. Diploma
Responsibilities
- Manage the production and efficiency of the Multidisciplinary Drawing Office
- Investigate, compile, obtain, approve and maintain specifications
- Liaise with all internal disciplines and external contractors
- Keeping abreast with latest drawing technology
- Evaluate and advise on purchase of hardware and software required to meet Design Office needs
- Evaluate other software products to suit the needs of a Multidisciplinary Drawing Office
- Compilation and control of a manual and or electronic G.I.S. systems, all servitude, drawing and project documentation
- In conjunction with the Land and Rights Section compile and distribute Property Schedule (Wayleaves) notices to all Statutory Bodies
- Ensure that contractors and consultants drawings adhere to Rand Water standards
- Accept responsibility for accuracy of tasks especially in the compilation of quantities from drawings
- Provide cadastral information to internal and external clients
- Deal with Surveyor General and Deeds Registry office regarding cadastral and property details
- Distribution, filing of all Design Office Packages
- Electronic backup of all Design Office Packages
- Ensure that all revisions are backed up using AutoCAD Vault
- Liaise with IT Department to renew all software Licenses for the various disciplines
- Liaise with the Technical Information Centre
