Fedics is in search for a Wardhostess who works individually on patient wards, serving meals and snacks in a busy, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Matric
- Previous experience in a hospital environment would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Ensure patients have access to fresh ice water at all times.
- Maintain beverage stations and ensure tea/coffee urns are filled and operational.
- Serve patients tea, coffee, beverages, snacks, and meals professionally and timely.
- Assist patients with menu selection and ensure menu cards are completed accurately.
- Submit completed menu cards to the kitchen within required timeframes.
- Maintain and update patient diet lists before each meal service.
- Communicate diet changes, special requests, and dietary restrictions to the kitchen.
- Transport food trolleys safely and efficiently between the kitchen and wards.
- Verify meal trays are complete, accurate, and meet quality standards before delivery.
- Collect trays promptly after meals and ensure ward areas remain clean.
- Maintain control of crockery, cutlery, and serving equipment.
- Wash, sanitise, and handle cutlery and service equipment according to food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic ward kitchen and service area.
- Adhere to food safety, health and safety, infection control, and hygiene procedures.
- Wear prescribed uniform and PPE correctly.
- Provide exceptional patient-focused service.
- Support special service requirements for private patients.
- Report service, stock, equipment, hygiene, or patient care concerns to the supervisor.
- Comply with all Tsebo Catering policies and client requirements.
