Overview
Millennium Foods is offering unemployed individuals the opportunity to participate in a one-year learnership leading to an NQF Level 3 Intermediate Occupational Certificate: Food and Beverage Packaging Operator. The programme combines theoretical learning with practical workplace experience to develop skills and competencies within a food and beverage packaging environment. Successful learners will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the 12-month programme.
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Must currently be unemployed
- Basic literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Willingness to work in a food manufacturing and packaging environment
- Willingness and ability to work shifts, where required
- An interest in pursuing a career in the food and beverage manufacturing industry
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of ingredients according to the product recipe and supervisor’s instructions
- Check quality of ingredients
- Weight or measure ingredients according to recipe
- Cut and portion ingredients according to recipe
- Manually assemble meals according to recipe in provided containers
- Ensure products are fully assembled with all recipe ingredients before sealing, wrapping and sleeving
- Inform supervisor/team leader when equipment is not working properly and when food and supplies are getting low
- Keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes
- Ensure good housekeeping practices in general
