Overview
The Artisan Production Grade A to C (Electrical) position involves general maintenance and repair of electrical systems, including lights, plugs, distribution boards, motors, and industrial equipment at Tygerberg Hospital. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate fault finding, repair skills, and knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Applicants should possess a valid driver's license and be willing to work after hours. Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Electrical field.
- Grade A: No experience required.
- Grade B: At least 18 years appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the Trade Test Certificate.
- Grade C: At least 34 years appropriate/recognisable experience after obtaining the Trade Test Certificate.
- Valid (Code B/EB) driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel and perform standby duties.
Responsibilities
- General maintenance and repair of electrical items.
- Manage the control of tools, equipment, and stock.
- Maintain minor mechanical and electrical installations.
- Perform new installation work or expand existing electrical services.
- Assist Artisan foreman and Chief Artisan in supervision and training of subordinates.
- Maintenance on UPS systems and Generators.
- Assist in compiling specifications for electrical projects.
