Overview
The Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) will assist with the dispensing of medications, ensuring proper labeling and medication distribution while adhering to regulatory standards. Candidates must hold the necessary qualifications and experience as outlined by the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) for the specified grades. Requirements
- Minimum educational qualification as required by the training facility and the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification that allows registration with SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post-Basic)
- Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) (Institutional) or Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic)
- Grade 1: None after registration with the SAPC
- Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ appropriate experience after registration
- Grade 3: Minimum of 13 years’ appropriate experience after registration
- Valid Driver’s License (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel
- Good computer literacy
- Fluent in JAC
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Ability to work under pressure
Responsibilities
- Assist with issuing of pharmaceuticals
- Ensure proper labeling and distribution of medications
- Maintain patient confidentiality and medication records
