Overview
Render technical services: Assist Engineers, Technologists and associates in field, workshop and technical office activities. Promote safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate and a qualification at NQF Level 06 in Engineering as recognized by SAQA
- Three years post qualification experience in Technical environment required
- Compulsory registration with the ECSA Professional Engineering Technician
- Valid driver’s license, with the exception of applicants with disabilities
- Technical Competencies: Project management
- Technical design and analysis knowledge
- Research and development
- Computer aidedengineering applications
- Knowledge of legal compliance
- Technical report writing
- Technical consulting
- Generic Competencies: Decision making, teamwork, analytical skills, creativity, self -management, customer focus and responsiveness, communication, computer literacy, planning and organizing, problem solvi ng, change management and people management
Responsibilities
- Render technical services: Assist Engineers, Technologists and associates in field, workshop and technical office activities
- Promote safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate existing technical manuals, standard drawings and proc edures to incorporate new technology
- Produce technical designs with specifications and submit for evaluation and approval by the relevant authority
- Perform administrative and related functions: Provide inputs into the budgeting process as required: Compi le and submit reports as required
- Provide and consolidate inputs to the technical/engineering operational plan
- Develop, implement and maintain databases
- Supervise and control technical and related personnel and assets
- Research and development: Continuo us professional development to keep up with new technologies and procedures
- Research/literature studies on technical engineering technology to improve expertise
- Liaise with relevant bodies/councils on engineering-related matters
