Overview

The Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic) will work under the supervision of a pharmacist and assist in the provision of pharmaceutical services to patients in the hospital. Responsibilities may include the dispensing of medication, patient consultation, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. Requirements

  • Minimum educational qualification as required by the training facility and the SAPC.
  • Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification allowing registration with the SAPC.
  • Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic).
  • For Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Pharmacist Assistant after registration with the SAPC.
  • For Grade 3: Minimum of 13 years’ experience as a Pharmacist Assistant after registration with the SAPC.
  • Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license.
  • Willingness to perform regular after-hour duties.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the dispensing of medication.
  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients.
  • Ensure compliance with the Medicines Act and Pharmacy Act.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
