Requirements

- Following the interview and the technical exercise of all SMS posts, the Selection Panel will recommend candidates to attend a generic managerial competency assessment in compliance with the DPSA Directive on the implementation of competency -based assessments
- Persons appointed will be subjected to a security clearance, the signing of performance agreement and employment contract

Responsibilities
- Perform access control
- Identify suspicious conduct
- Ensure that unauthorised persons and dangerous objects do not enter the building/ premises
- Estcourt visitors to the relevant employee /venue when required
- Ensure that no equipment and assets of the department leave the building/ premises unauthorised
- Perform proper lock up for all offices and access points
- Operate and monitor control room security equipment
- Ensure safety in the building and premises
- Undertake building /premises patrols to identify and check
- Lock or unlock main doors and trellidoors as required
- Note offices that have been left unlocked and lock the mentioned office
- Fire hazards exposed electronical 23 contacts and other fire hazards emanating from instance
- Apply emergency procedures and alert emergency services and departmental management
- Provide receptionist services
- Ensure safety of staff and visitors
- Ensure all incidents are recorded in the occur rence book/register
- Ensure that the occurrence register and other registers are kept up to date
- Ensure that visitors entering the forests have an approved Licence as per NFA
- Assist with fire management in the forest as required
- Obtain feedback from the supervisor on incidents reported
- Report on missing and stolen equipment and stores
