CHIEF BORDER LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: JEPPES REEF PORT OF ENTRY
Overview
The successful candidates will be expected to supervise and coordinate border control activities, conduct inspections, collaborate with government agencies, compile reports, stay updated on trends in border control, conduct investigations, ensure staff training, ensure compliance with laws, analyze intelligence data, and maintain stakeholder relations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
- Undergraduate qualification at NQF 6 in a Social Science/Law/Security studies/Public Administration
- 3 years’ supervisory experience in security operations
- Flexibility in working hours
- Valid driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate border control activities
- Monitor the flow of goods and individuals
- Conduct inspections and implement measures against illegal entries
- Collaborate with government agencies and international counterparts
- Compile reports for higher authorities
- Conduct investigations into illegal border activities
- Ensure adherence to training programmes and rectify deficiencies
- Ensure compliance with national and international laws
- Review and update procedures and guidelines
- Analyze intelligence data and risk assessments
- Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders
- Represent the BMA in committees and forums
