Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Cook to join our Business & Industry catering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals while maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene, and customer service standards in a corporate dining environment.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- Relevant Culinary Qualification will be advantageous
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Cook within a contract catering, hospitality, or food service environment
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menu requirements
- Ensure food is presented attractively and served at the correct temperatures
- Assist with menu planning and daily food production
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock control and ordering
- Minimize food waste and adhere to portion control guidelines
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations
- Assist with catering functions and special events when required
- Support the kitchen team to ensure efficient service delivery
