Cyber Operations Analyst
Overview
The Cyber Operations Analyst is responsible for monitoring system dashboards and alerts in real time to identify anomalies and potential fraud incidents. The role involves investigating alerts, logging incidents, and escalating confirmed cases to team leads. Analysts contribute to identifying emerging fraud patterns and participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance monitoring effectiveness.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, Cybersecurity, Data Science or a related field is required.
- Certifications in fraud prevention, cybersecurity, or IT service management are advantageous.
- 1 - 3 years' experience in operations, monitoring, fraud analytics, or IT support environment.
- Experience in a financial services or payments environment is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Flash system dashboards, alerts, and transaction queues in real time to identify critical anomalies.
- Investigate and triage alerts in line with defined escalation procedures.
- Escalate confirmed fraud cases and critical system events to the team lead.
- Log all incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in the designated case management system.
- Contribute to the identification of emerging fraud typologies and cyber threat patterns.
- Conduct structured shift handovers to ensure communication of critical context.
- Adhere to monitoring protocols and compliance requirements.
- Identify and report recurring alert patterns that may indicate emerging trends.
- Participate in team briefings and training sessions.
