Overview
The apprenticeship is designed to provide practical exposure to electrical activities and operations within the construction and infrastructure environment.
Requirements
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between 18 and 30 years old
- Be a resident of the West Coast Region
- Have an Occupational Certificate Electrical at NQF Level 1, Grade 9, or an NCV Level 2 certificate
- Have passed Pure Mathematics
- Prior training in the advertised trade is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing work sites and ensuring necessary equipment, tools, consumables, and materials are available for electrical activities
- Assist with the installation, wiring, and connection of electrical equipment and control systems
- Gain practical experience in testing and inspecting electrical equipment, control systems, and electrical installations
- Be involved in the commissioning of control systems and installations
- Gain exposure to the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, control systems, and installations
