Food Service Assistant - Umhlanga
Overview
The Food service assistant will execute a variety of tasks associated with food, production, front of house services and any general support needed regarding all Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in catering, hospitality, food service, or a similar environment will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety principles.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation and meal serving.
- Prepare dining and service areas before meal periods.
- Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and according to company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchens, serving areas, dining rooms, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and catering equipment as required.
- Follow food safety, health, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required.
- Support stock rotation and waste minimisation practices.
- Provide excellent customer service and respond positively to customer requests.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
