Heavy Maintenance Foreman
Overview
The Heavy Maintenance Foreman is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of heavy maintenance operations, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and effective supervision while coordinating with various teams to support on-time delivery of maintenance milestones.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day Heavy Maintenance execution ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
- Support the execution of the Heavy Maintenance plan through task sequencing and manpower allocation.
- Coordinate and supervise Heavy Maintenance crews and Crew Chiefs, assigning tasks based on skills and urgency.
- Ensure aircraft access and readiness activities are completed for planned maintenance.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to maintenance personnel.
- Ensure quality and compliance of maintenance records and paperwork.
- Confirm and control tooling and equipment requirements for Heavy Maintenance.
- Coordinate spares and material readiness and escalate shortages promptly.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices.
- Monitor tooling, material constraints, and overtime utilization, providing input for operational reporting.
- Engage with stakeholders on operational matters and provide technical input.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Participate in weekly and monthly meetings and represent FlySafair.
- Provide supervision and coordination of team activities.
- Monitor team output and escalate performance concerns.
- Implement team goals aligned to departmental objectives.
- Coordinate training, shift scheduling, and leave planning.
- Provide input into the annual budget.
- Deliver structured operational reporting to management, including updates on aircraft status and challenges.
