Overview
The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is seeking a self-motivated professional to lead the delivery of Component 2 of the Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) Project. This role focuses on enhancing the resilience of communities and critical infrastructure against climate-induced hazards through the development and implementation of effective strategies and responses.
Requirements
- Degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Development Studies, Disaster Management, or equivalent qualification at NQF 7
- Eight (8) years of work experience in the relevant field
- Four (4) years of experience in a first-line management position
- Experience in managing external partners and inter-institutional delivery arrangements
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Eco-DRR Project
- Ensure effective coordination and delivery in line with applicable legislation and policies
- Oversee the Disaster Preparedness and Response programme
- Quality assurance of all outputs for Component 2
