Overview

The Manager of Ground & Cargo Operations is responsible for ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory requirements, overseeing the implementation of safety management systems, and managing operational risks. This role involves monitoring and improving performance metrics for ground handling and cargo operations while ensuring the safe and efficient execution of these services.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with SACAA, IOSA and AOC requirements related to ground handling and cargo operations.
  • Serve as the Dangerous Goods governance owner.
  • Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS).
  • Oversee audits, regulatory inspections, and corrective action plans.
  • Maintain regulatory documentation and manuals.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of incidents, accidents, and dangerous goods.
  • Monitor and improve operational performance including OTP and turnaround times.
  • Manage load control compliance and aircraft configuration accuracy.
  • Drive continuous operational improvement through data analysis.
  • Lead end-to-end cargo operations ensuring adherence to service level agreements.
  • Manage cargo irregularities and performance reporting.
  • Conduct performance reviews with service providers and manage contractual requirements.
  • Oversee training compliance for staff and service providers.
  • Maintain operational documentation and implement training interventions.
