Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the Meat Market
- Perform and supervise meat cutting, portioning, processing, and wors production
- Ensure products meet company quality and presentation standards
- Maintain product availability and freshness at all times
- Ensure equipment is used safely and maintained correctly
- Achieve sales, GP%, waste, shrinkage, and profitability targets
- Control stock ordering, receiving, storage, and stock rotation
- Monitor and reduce waste, damages, and stock losses
- Conduct stock counts and investigate variances
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Maintain high housekeeping and cleanliness standards
- Ensure employees wear the correct PPE and follow safe working practices
- Lead, motivate, and manage the Meat Market team
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance
- Train and develop employees in both butchery and operational standards
- Address performance and disciplinary matters where required
- Deliver excellent customer service and product knowledge
- Resolve customer complaints professionally and promptly
- Ensure a positive shopping experience through quality products and service excellence
