Millwright Artisan - Krugersdorp
Overview
RCL Foods is looking for an experienced Millwright to join our Pies division in Krugersdorp. The purpose of the role is to ensure that all manufacturing equipment is serviced and maintained according to specifications and in line with good engineering practice.
Requirements
- N3 – N6 or NCV Technical qualifications
- Millwright Trade Test
- 2 - 5 years’ experience as Artisan in the FMCG industry
- Knowledge of conveyor belts, wire meshes, modular belts, bearings, mechanical/electrical tools
- Basic knowledge of fitting
- Basic knowledge and skill of operating Ammonia and glycol plant
- Knowledge of PLC’s and VSD’s machines
- Knowledge of AC and DC Machines
- Knowledge of boilers and air compressors
- Knowledge of ovens, flow rappers, cooking pots, cuber machines, tumbler machines, X-rays, metal detectors, pie lines, spirals freezers, mixers, and vacuum pumps
- Knowledge of Food safety and hygiene requirements
- Basic knowledge of different types of lubricants
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements
Responsibilities
- Repair failures on equipment to restore functionality
- Carry out preventative maintenance work including daily inspections on machines
- Carry out root cause analysis to prevent re-occurrence of failures
- Ensure job cards are completed timeously and all relevant information is captured
- Ensure all equipment is made safe before work is carried out
- Carry out continuous and focused improvements on machines and processes
- Assist production team in machine start-ups and set-ups when necessary
- Plan spares and arrange with service providers for pre-planned maintenance activities
- Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose malfunctions and repair failures
- Do fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs of electrical systems and apparatus
- Define and follow Standard Maintenance Procedures for repair of electrical systems
- Direct and train workers to install and maintain mechanical/electrical equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned, including mechanical fitting work and welding
- Comply with Health and Safety requirements and RCL Foods policies
- Adhere to Quality and Food Safety requirements
