Overview
Exxaro Resources is seeking a dedicated Operator Grade I, Crane to join the Rigging team at Grootegeluk in Lephalale, Limpopo. In this permanent role, the operator will be responsible for operating and managing various mechanical equipment and machinery, conducting daily inspections, performing minor maintenance, and supporting preventive maintenance activities to ensure safety and performance standards are consistently met.
Requirements
- Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical
- 1-2 years of relevant job-specific experience at an operational level
- Valid Code EC Public Driver's License
- Psychometric Assessment (to be conducted by Exxaro)
- Certificate of Fitness (to be conducted by Exxaro)
- Demonstrated competence in operating relevant machinery and equipment
- Ability to interpret and utilise load charts effectively
- Thorough knowledge of national standard hand signals for equipment operation
- Familiarity with safety procedures and practices during equipment operation
- Proficiency in customer and client relationship management, including professional customer support services
Responsibilities
- Execute professional customer support services, ensuring effective communication with clients and supervisors to relay information about duties performed.
- Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery in compliance with performance standards, while adhering to safety procedures and practices.
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of all machinery, including cranes, transporters, and forklifts to identify maintenance requirements.
- Perform small-scale maintenance and assist in planned preventative maintenance and breakdown recovery to optimize equipment usage.
