Overview
Join the Snackworks Isando Biscuits Factory and become part of a business with a proud biscuit-making legacy. In this role, you will be responsible for Maintenance- and Project support, training and upskilling of artisans and operators, and continuous improvement of packaging and biscuit handling processes.
Requirements
- 5 - 8 years of experience in packaging engineering or similar environment
- Relevant experience with various packaging machinery (e.g., vertical form fill seal machines, case packers, etc.)
- Completed tertiary qualification (NDip; BTech; BEng) in Mechanical Engineering or completed Millwright Trade Test
- Continuous improvement certification/qualification or completed short course (Advantageous)
Responsibilities
- Optimised maintenance support and equipment uptime
- Conduct audits on equipment in line with OEM standards
- Assist with high level breakdowns and provide recommendations to reduce downtime
- Advise on maintenance strategies and set standards for stock requirements
- Participate in scoping and procurement of new plant equipment
- Facilitate relationships with original equipment manufacturers and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Assist with training and upskilling of operators and artisans
